Social studies!

We started our 1st social studies unit today. The class is learning to identify countries and states on a map. They will be learning to locate the prime meridian, the four hemispheres, and much more! Here they are pretending to launch into space :)

Thursday fun!

The kids have been busy observing their shadows this morning. During math, we used grocery ads to find money amounts and then we practiced adding them together!

Science

The class will be observing and recording the path that the sun takes throughout the day. We'll be observing this morning, right before lunch, and at the end of our school day.

First Day!

We had a successful first day of 3rd grade!  The class was able to spend some time with Mrs. Swanson going over playground and lunchroom expectations.  Then they worked in groups to come up with expectations for themselves, parents, and the teachers!  We'll finish them up tomorrow.  It was very warm today, but we're all looking forward to the cooler temperatures ahead!
